Why do you love fly fishing?

I must say that it is fishing first that I love and fly fishing's quality to immerse ourselves into the natural environment that draws me to the sport.

What is your teaching style?

My teaching style would blend too much information with an easy going positive attitude that focuses on technique.

Why do you teach the course?

I teach the course because I enjoy sharing the sport of fly fishing and being a teacher at heart I get tremendous joy from seeing others progress. I also really enjoy getting back to basics, being reminded of where we all started at one point in our fly fishing lives.

What do you enjoy most about the MRFC School?

First I must say I really like that the MRFC School is an on the water school and secondly I would say that we have a wonderful practical approach to fly fishing.

What is one piece of advice you would give a beginning angler?

My advice to beginning anglers is this; the sport of fly fishing is a journey and not an end in and of it self. Take your time and enjoy the moments.

Why do you love fly fishing?

I love fly fishing because I really enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful places it takes you. I have also met so many great people from many walk of life that share this same passion.

What is your teaching style?

My teaching style is to get the rod in people's hands and let's go!!! I don't like to talk too much and confuse them. In other words, let's learn on the go.

Why do you teach the course?

I enjoy teaching the school. It breaks up what we do every day. In the school it's not all about numbers and catching fish a certain way. It's about learning for the students and teaching them every style of fishing. It is rewarding because you can really see the joy these students have in their own improvement in the course over three days.

What do you enjoy most about the MRFC School?

The biggest enjoyment is seeing the students progress! A lot of normal guide days are people that don't really care how or why we are catching the fish. Not in the school, these students are there because they want to learn and gain the confidence to go and do it on their own.

What is one piece of advice you would give a beginning angler?

My advice would be to take a class! I took a class 24 years ago with my dad. Now I teach one!!
