In addition to daily float trips with some of the best Madison River fly fishing guides, MVR has a little bit of everything for the adventurous fisherman, wading the Channels, stalking a small stream and stillwater trophy hunting.

The Ranch is located on the Channels sections of the Madison River just above Ennis Lake. This sections is designated wade only and consists of a seemingly endless number of braided water that takes a lifetime to explore. The Ranch's private access gives guest anglers and opportunity to fish some of the best water on the whole river. Many of them venture out of non-guide days or in the evening if they haven't had enough after a day of floating the Madison.

The property also features a little known creek that is notorious for holding the occasional 18-20 incher. This stretch of water is extremely challenging as fish are selective and easily spooked at times. When the stars align though, these fish will eagerly take a small elk hair caddis most evening if presented properly. It is a great piece of water that is best fished early in the morning or just before your 5-course meal.

Finally, the ranch offers a private 2-acre pond that gives guests a chance to warm up before a float trip or hone their skills at the end of the day. It is perfect for kids as well because many of the fish are easy to catch with a small bugger. Note, we said "many" of the fish are easy to catch. This pond has a deep end that holds fish year round. There are several fish in there that have been around for a few years and they've figured out what a wooley bugger is by now. These fish are only fooled by utilizing subtle and natural presentations and good luck if you happen to hook one of these giants!
