November 2025
UPDATED 11/25/2025
It’s the last week of November and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. There aren’t many folks out fishing at the moment with the freezing temps and unfulfilled elk and deer tags in the valley. The upcoming forecast is showing lots of snow and inclement weather inbound, something which we’ve seen hardly any of so far this season. As of today, all of the boat ramps are still accessible on the Upper river. Access can change quickly with one good storm so be prepared to button hook if you’re floating up river.
Dry flies, nymphs and streamers have all been catching fish the last few weeks. Fish have been looking up at baetis patterns when the clouds are persistent. Small leech-like streamers on a dead drift have been working closer to the lake. Nymphing has been the most productive method with zebra midges, perdigons, small stonefly nymphs and worms. There’s more than one way to skin the cat right now so fish however you like to!
