The Hilbert's Sexi Top May PMD from Montana Fly Co. is an emerger tied in size #16. Size #16 covers the naturals trout encounter most often.
Emergers imitate insects in the vulnerable transition from nymph to dun. Fish it in or just under the surface film during a hatch — a drag-free drift is everything. Carry a selection in several sizes to match the hatch at hand.
