The Peacock Caddis is a #16 caddis dry fly from Solitude Fly Co. — a classic pattern built on a peacock herl body, a blonde elk hair wing, and brown hackle. It is not a close imitation of any caddisfly; fished like an Adams in caddis-rich water, it looks buggy from below and fishes through any caddis hatch at the right size. The elk hair wing keeps it visible while it rides low in the film. Dead-drift it through riffles and along seams, or give it a twitch and skate it like an adult — a proven trout dry when caddis are on the water.
