Montana Fly Co.'s Jig Fullback Napoleon in Black is a #18 mayfly nymph tied on a jig hook with a 2.4mm bead for euro nymphing. The jig hook rides point-up, so it fishes clean along the bottom with fewer snags, and the bead gives the small fly the weight to reach depth fast in runs and pocket water. The black colorway is a natural tone for the small mayfly nymphs trout eat on the bottom. Fish it dead-drifted on a tight line or under an indicator — a go-to jig nymph when trout are keyed on small mayflies.
