Montana Fly Co.'s Jig Lightning Perdigon in Pearl/Fl. Orange is a #18 mayfly nymph tied on a jig hook with a 2.8mm bead for euro nymphing. The slim, smooth perdigon body sinks fast with minimal drag, and the jig hook rides point-up so it fishes clean along the bottom with fewer snags. The pearl body flashes like a small mayfly nymph, while the fluorescent orange adds a bright hot spot that draws trout in stained water and low light. Fish it dead-drifted on a tight line or under an indicator — a go-to jig nymph when trout are keyed on small mayflies.
