Trina's PMD Angel Case Emerger from Montana Fly Co. imitates a Pale Morning Dun on the verge of hatching. The translucent angel case wing suggests the emerging insect trout key on during heavy hatches.
Fish it in the film or just below during PMD activity. Size #16 matches the naturals of summer hatches on Western rivers. Mayfly nymphs are on the trout menu nearly every day of the season, so a pattern like this earns a permanent place in your nymph box.
