The Shotglass Baetis in olive is a small Baetis nymph with a glassy, translucent body. The shotglass-style build suggests the delicate naturals trout sift from the drift during Blue Winged Olive hatches.
Fish it in riffles and seams from spring through fall. Size #18 matches the olives that hatch on cloudy days and fuel steady subsurface feeding. Mayfly nymphs are on the trout menu nearly every day of the season, so a pattern like this earns a permanent place in your nymph box.
