The Crystal Midge in black is a flashy midge larva with a crystalline body that sparkles in the drift. The added flash helps trout find it in the water column during heavy midge activity.
Fish it as a dropper in slow pools and tailouts. Size #18 is a go-to for winter midge fishing on tailwaters and spring creeks. Midges hatch in every month of the year, so this is a pattern worth keeping on your rig from winter straight through fall.
