The Zebra Midge in black is the quintessential tailwater midge larva, simple and deadly. Its black body with silver ribbing matches the midges trout feed on subsurface nearly year-round.
Fish it as a dropper in slow pools, tailouts, and eddies. Sold by the dozen in sizes #16 and #18 for covering midge activity through the seasons. Midges hatch in every month of the year, so this is a pattern worth keeping on your rig from winter straight through fall.
