The Steak and Eggs from MRFC is an egg pattern tied in size #14. Size #14 covers the naturals trout encounter most often.
Drifting eggs are an easy, protein-rich meal that trout rarely refuse. Fish it dead-drift along the bottom, most often under an indicator or as the point fly in a nymph rig. One of the most reliable cold-weather patterns, when eggs are a primary food source.
