Zach's Idylwilde Chubby Royal #6

Zach's Idylwilde Chubby in Royal is a #6 high-floating Chubby-style attractor dry fly from Montana Fly Co. The Royal colorway puts the classic red-and-peacock Royal body on modern foam construction, for contrast and flash that suggest hoppers, beetles, and stoneflies rather than matching one hatch exactly. The foam body and rubber legs keep it riding high through fast water, riffles, and pocket water, buoyant enough to support a nymph dropper, and the bright wing keeps it easy to track. Fish it dead-drifted along the banks as a searching attractor, or as the dry in a dry-dropper rig — a go-to dry for trout water.
