The Quadruple Double Ugly in tan is a scruffy terrestrial dry fly pattern. The disheveled, impressionistic profile suggests a range of land-born insects — hoppers, beetles, and more.
Fish it on a dead drift along grassy banks in summer, or as a searching attractor when trout are feeding on terrestrials.
Cover water steadily with this pattern, casting to each likely pocket along the bank — terrestrial feeders are opportunists that pounce on a good drift.
