Fat Frank in tan is a bulky hopper-style dry fly. The wide, buoyant body floats high and suggests the large terrestrials trout hunt in late summer.
Fish it on a dead drift along grassy banks, or skate it gently to imitate a struggling hopper.
Cover water steadily with this pattern, casting to each likely pocket along the bank — terrestrial feeders are opportunists that pounce on a good drift.
